Memories of NyC

'Reminiscing is painful for practically
all of my thoughts and memories
are tied to my lost love.
I see his face and feel his touch
and hear his voice in every
snapshot in my mind.
Words cannot give justice to the
amount of sorrow and
heartbreak I feel.

What is that you say?
'Everyone bears this pain at some point.'
No, Please.
Do not downplay my story and sadness
with you so-called words of solace.
I will find some joy and the light of day
eventually.
But for now,
let me be with my pain, with my memories,
with my lost love.
For I will never love like this again.'

Small Miracles

Hellllllooo My LoVeS!!!

Omg, I would just like to say how ashamed and sorry I am for disappearing out of thin air for 6 months. Wait I mean 4 months. It seems like 6 months, though. Well, you will be happy to know I'm still alive :-). Horray for small miracles, lol.

There is so much to say, but for now I would just like to show you my latest little venture. I'm still on Instagram, in fact you can find me @alongthewayannie. But I also opened an Instacanvas store, so you can browse my cool photos and gifts of NYC, Brooklyn, and the hills of Pennsylvania here.

Here are a few of my recent shots:

My beloved NYC - oh how I miss you :-(

Some of my Dad's farmland

Yes, Pennsylvania is farm country, lol

So anyway, that's the story for now! How is everyone else?? Plllleeeaase say hi. I've got so much catching up to do. I will try to stop by to everyone else as well. See you soon!

Annie

The Right Place at the Right Time

To me there is nothing like the thrill of taking or capturing an amazing photograph. And part of the thrill is that sometimes the photo is the result of pure chance - simply being in the right place at the right time and being brave and agile enough to whip out your camera or phone and snap that photo.

Well that happened to me yesterday walking back from the train station. As you can see this little girl was enjoying her walk home after school with her daddy. He was chatting with her and she was giggling - it seemed to be just the two of them without a care in the world. A very sweet and refreshing change from the interactions between parents and children that I'm used to encountering in the city.

Cupcakes

I know I know, it appears I've gone MIA on everyone and perhaps even myself. Well I'm trying get my act together and get with the program lol. It seems that when I feel like I'm losing control in my personal life I regrettably let that spill over into other things, such as my blog. I lose my focus, motivation, and creativity. And this week has really collapsed with sickness and a flare up from an old back injury.

So here I lay flat on my back listening to the whir of my AC, and chimes that the ice cream truck is approaching nearby. And then the bright sunny day that is peeking through the curtain beckoning me to "come out and play". Be that as it may, I'm determined not wallow in my misery, rather I'd like to share a few pics of a little outing last week in which I treated myself to a trip to Georgetown Cupcake in Soho.

Just a little history lesson for those of you that don't know - Georgetown Cupcake is run by 2 sisters of a famous reality TV show here in the States called DC Cupcakes. It, of course, originated in Washington, DC and to my surprise i learned they just opened a shop here in NYC on Mercer St. in the village.

I'm not really a cupcake connesuir, but I have to say that the Coconut is absolutely divine. Not too sweet and incredibly moist with a delightful topping of Cream Cheese frosting and crown of coconut.

Anyhow, I could go on for hours, but I'll leave you with these tidbits.. And feel free to say hi and share own your thoughts or remedies for getting out of a funk...

Breaking a Record

Well tonight I had something I haven't had in a very long time. Fish. You see I've been a strict vegetarian for four and a half years. And when I say strict I mean strict - no white meat, fish, or even meat broth. However, recently I've had some concerns and have decided to start incorporating fish and possibly white meat into my diet again.

So it was quite the evening - I had Albacore tuna with steamed vegetables and brown rice. It was OK..I would rather have had a hot dog, lol. Nonetheless, it was healthy :-) Next time I may try a Tuna Salad Wrap. But I'm afraid I'll run out of ideas..

Anyone have any healthy options for preparing fish or white meat??
